Parcheesi in Candyland by Jill Isakson

Giving this a try!

This is my first blog post.  I want to share my passion for quilting and connect with other quilters.  I'm not really sure where I am going with this so I think I will start with the first quilt I entered in a show.  It is called Parcheesi in Candyland because it had to have a name for the show entry form and I couldn't think of a good name for it.  I started it in a workshop with Mary Mashuta at the International Quilt Festival in Houston.  It hung in various stages/pieces and parts on my design wall for several years before I got up the nerve to try to finish it.  To force myself to really finish it I entered it in the 2011 Dallas Quilt Show.  You only had to send a picture of the top with the entry form in early January but had to have the quilt finished and show ready by early March.  Plenty of time!  But of course, I always procrastinate and always think things will take less time than they actually do.  I finished the binding at 3 AM on the morning the quilt had to be turned in.  Oh well, got it done and turned it so here it is.  Oh, and it won 3rd Place in the 1st quilt in a show category

I am hopefully participating in the Blogger's Quilt Festival if I can figure out how to link up with it.  Below is the link to the website.  I would really appreciate your vote if you like my quilt!
